Budgewoi Hotel
Budgewoi Hotel is the pub in the middle of Budgewoi, on the Central Coast, and everyone local calls it the Budgie. Doors are open from 10am every day of the week, through to midnight Monday to Saturday and until 10pm on Sunday. The beer garden fills up on warm afternoons and a firepit does the work in winter. Downstairs the bistro cooks pub food for lunch and dinner; Lago Cucina, the Italian room, is one floor up.
Something is on most nights. Free pool all day Monday, trivia at 7 on Tuesday, open mic from 6 on Wednesday, karaoke on the first Thursday of the month, poker from 4 on Friday. Live music covers all three weekend days: Friday from 7pm, Saturday from 2.30 and Sunday afternoons from 1. Trivia, the open mic and the karaoke cost nothing to enter; poker is $15, and a themed trivia night lands once a quarter.
The bistro runs a deal most days: two-for-one pizzas and $15 pastas on Tuesday, $22 schnitzels on Wednesday, $5 tacos on Thursday, and a $25 roast on Sunday that stops when it sells out, with a child's meal free alongside every main ordered that day. Weekday lunches start at $13. In the school holidays the doors open at 10 for coffee and breakfast, and the free activities for children run from midday.
